Accreditation
The American Urological Association (AUA) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education (CME) for physicians.

The AUA takes responsibility for the content, quality and scientific integrity of this CME activity.

Credit Designation
The American Urological Association designates this educational activity for a maximum of 56.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Statement of Need
The need of this activity is to enhance urologists' knowledge and improve their performance by providing them with the most updated developments and techniques in urology to ensure the highest standard of patient care and safety.

Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of the 2010 Annual Meeting, participants should be able to:

  • describe recent developments in the medical and surgical management of urology patients
  • identify new technologies for the treatment of urologic problems
  • outline the role of simulators in urologic training
  • analyze the potential threats to urologic practice and specify possible solutions

Maintenance of Certification
The AUA sponsored Postgraduate and Instructional Courses held during the AUA Annual Meeting contribute towards the CME requirements for Maintenance of Certification by the American Board of Urology.

AUA Disclosure Policy
As a provider accredited by ACCME, the AUA must ensure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in all its activities.

All planning committee members, faculty members and program planners who have participated in the planning and development of this activity must disclose and resolve any conflicts of interest prior to the commencement of the activity.

Program Planners and Faculty Disclosures
Program planners and faculty disclosures will be provided in the 2010 online Program Abstract Book. Those not listed there will be in the 2010 Meeting Program Book and in course materials.

Unlabeled/Unapproved Uses Policy
It is the policy of the AUA to require the disclosure of all references to unlabeled or unapproved uses of drugs or devices prior to the presentation of educational content. Please consult the prescribing information for full disclosure of approved uses.

Getting Your CME Credits or Certificate
You must scan your badge upon entry into courses and sessions (except for Plenary) to automatically have your credits entered onto your transcript. Credits will be awarded only to the person whose name is associated with the badge. Plenary credits must be self-reported with a valid badge login at the CME Booth located in the Registration Lobby.

CME credits may be claimed at the CME Booth, located in the Registration Lobby on Sunday, May 30, between the hours of Noon and 4 p.m.; Monday through Wednesday, May 31 through June 2, 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Thursday, June 3, 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Credits for the Annual Meeting must be claimed by December 31, 2010. Transcripts may be printed after that date; however, no additional credits may be claimed.

If you are an AUA member, you have exclusive access to the free, online, self-reporting AUA CME Credit Registry. You will be able to self-report and track your Annual Meeting CME credits and print a transcript anytime.
